What is Whole30?

Whole30® is...

First, let me start by saying Whole30 is NOT a diet, nor is it a weight-loss program.  Let me make that very clear.  Yes, you will likely lose some pounds and/or inches; however, this is just one small benefit compared to the overall real life changing effects this program can have when approached as designed.  


Whole30 is a structured way to help you find true freedom in the foods that you choose to consume by learning what works for you, and what does not; what foods give you the most energy, and which deplete that energy store; which foods allow you to think clearly, and which give you brain fog; which foods aid in the best nights sleep EVER, and which detract from the sleep so necessary to revitalize our beings; which foods allow us to move in ways we may not have known for many years, and which cause pain in countless areas of the body limiting the ability to move.  AND so much more depending on your individual person.

What can I have and what must I avoid on Whole30®...

What is in:  

  • WHOLE, UNPROCESSED FOODS WITH HEALTHY FOR YOU INGREDIENTS

  • NEW INGREDIENTS THAT WILL HELP YOU EXPAND YOUR FOOD REPERTOIRE AND DEVELOP YOUR UNDISCOVERED PALLET

  • PREPARING AND EATING FOOD FROM A PLACE OF MINDFULNESS AND INTENTION

  • AWARENESS OF WHAT YOUR FOOD FREEDOM FOREVER® LOOKS LIKE TO HELP YOU SUSTAIN YOUR BEST FEELING SELF....ALWAYS

What is temporarily out for 30 days plus reintroduction (on your terms):  

  • GRAINS (glutenous and non-glutenous, including, but not limited to: wheat, oats, rice, quinoa, amaranth, barley, rye, corn)

  • DAIRY (except ghee/clarified butter)

  • LEGUMES (including peanuts; the only exceptions are those eaten with their pods like snap peas) 

  • SOY from all sources

  • ADDED SUGAR (both real and artificial, including honey, stevia.)

  • ALCOHOL (even for cooking)

  • CARRAGEENAN, MSG, and SULFITES (label reading is a must)

  • WEIGHING AND MEASURING YOURSELF (lose the scale and tape measure for at least 30 days.  It is worth it!!)

  • RE-CREATING OFF PLAN FOOD ITEMS FROM COMPLIANT INGREDIENTS (no cauliflower pizza, banana almond flour pancakes, pecan date pie, etc)

This is either a do, or do not do, program.  There is no middle ground during the Whole30® round.  Whole30® is about learning to be kind to your own self, learning to love yourself (sometimes one bite at a time), learning how strong and resilient you are, learning to be forgiving and that each step is a small success that adds up to the more fulfilled and empowered future you.  You are worth it and I am here to remind you of that when you can't seem to remember it for yourself (it happens to most of us who have embarked upon this journey).
