About Sandra

My name is Sandra Luttrell. I am a firm believer in living a fulfilled and abundant life while being well fed in all aspects our being. As we each have our own unbeaten path, mine has led me to exactly where I am today. The events of my life have given me the knowledge and life experience to step into my own, walk my walk and talk my talk.

In regard to formal education, I am a graduate from University of Central Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Biology concentrating in molecular and microbiology and as such have an understanding of the physical being from physical, metabolic and biochemical standpoints. This helps me to address the questions regarding why some foods are optimally assimilated and propel us forward in ways we would have only dreamed, while others are just not conducive to functioning at our optimum. This education has allotted me the opportunity to work in the manufacturing sector of the food industry, not only as a Quality Director, but also as a food safety auditor. I have seen the ins and outs of how our conventional food supply is produced and know there is a better way to live healthier, more sustainable lives, on our own terms.

While this journey has been unfolding for my entire life, the catapult really started in 2014 when I was misdiagnosed with arthritis in my left hip. Aside from my hip, I became progressively ill being unwell at all times in one fashion or another: peripheral pain in all four extremities, headaches, acne, weak nails, significantly overweight, tired and the list could go on, and on. My husband and I were eating organically and I was taking care of myself the best I could, considering the intense level of discomfort I felt on a daily basis. It was a struggle to do my job, let alone exercise.

On March 4, 2017, I decided I had enough of this existence and wanted something different for me and my family. I told my husband it was time to make some big changes as I could no longer live this type of life and he willingly joined me on this journey, 100%. I had done my research (and finally truly listened to that inner voice) and found what I thought was good for us really was incredibly unhealthy.

So, the result of that? Welcome to our new life that started with Whole30®.

I cleaned out the cabinets of all the organic, processed food, cleaned the fridge of all bottles and packages and was left with clean, whole, perishable, organic items that I knew would fuel our bodies and feed our souls. With my travelling, I found ways to nourish my being, thinking outside the box and cooking hot meals in quite unconventional ways – there were no excuses…NONE. I wanted it badly enough and was willing to do whatever was needed. The immediate benefits were obvious within four days: 90% of the pain in my body vanished, the snoring my husband described as a freight train stopped, allergies were gone, and I slept through the night for the first time in as long as I can remember. Since I started this new lifestyle to where I am today the improved quality of my being continues to emerge: my skin is radiant, glowing and has cleared up, my eyes are gleaming (per my husband), I have been cold/flu/allergy free, lost over five sizes and many more NSVs I am sure I have not mentioned.... just by simply changing my diet.

Back to the hip. By April 2017, I found a new orthopedic doctor only to find I had a birth defect of dysplasia in my left hip with a torn labrum that was not properly treated causing a generally rapid degeneration of the joint. At 42, I was an atypical total hip replacement patient (one of the youngest my surgeon has operated on). Throughout the recovery process, I found my body has a miraculous ability to heal not only physically, but emotionally, spiritually and mentally (which is another story, in and of itself, for another time) given the proper nutrition both internally and externally.

My hip issues ultimately had nothing to do with my hip. While I needed medical assistance to remove the issue, it was a symptom of a far deeper issue that is now being healed in ways that I never imagined, and it started with changing my diet. And, more importantly, walking my walk and talking my talk. I am a certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach as a direct result of my experience with my food safety career career, journey with Whole30® and my own personal healing from physical, emotional, mental and spiritual perspectives.

I am living the life I have imagined for as long as I can remember, and I want to share this with others who feel as lost as I felt, looking for a way out of the woods (or into them if that is where your path leads). I want to share the light so that others may see what is laying directly in front of them, or maybe in the shadows, and help change the lives of others. The experience of my life has put me on the path to personal health and becoming a health coach, a career I am truly grateful for and the answering of the call to my true passion. The ripple effect (as described by IIN) is very much real; and since stepping into myself, has become ever present.
